Mystical Experience in the Tradition of the Church and its Relevance for Clergy and the Faithful Today (IOCF)
Presented by Father Roy Lepak, S.T.D.
Today spirituality is of great interest to many people. The Catholic Church has had a long and sterling tradition with reference to the human person’s growth in grace. Starting with baptism, that spiritual growth manifests itself in various ways. Mystical experience, sometimes called infused contemplation, is one of those ways. This presentation has two goals: It will show how mystical experience is rooted in the Bible and in the tradition of the Church; and it will describe what mystical experience is, why it has always been relevant and what effect it has on the Church and society.
