Quinn Biblical Studies Endowment

The Monsignor Jerome D. Quinn Endowment for Biblical Studies brings scholars to The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity to teach, mentor faculty, give public lectures, and produce scholarly works. The Endowment also contributes to the strengthening of the guild of Catholic biblical scholars by holding regular conferences. Established in 2008 through the generosity of the Quinn family and other donors, the Endowment supports a twofold mission to honor the memory of Msgr. Quinn: the promotion of high-level biblical studies, and the strengthening of the biblical studies program at The Saint Paul Seminary School of Divinity.

Father Scott Carl, the founding director (2008–2019), oversaw five academic conferences and edited the first Quinn conference volume. I continue this tradition of conferences for biblical scholars teaching in Catholic seminaries by leading conferences and editing conferences volumes through Saint Paul Seminary Press.

Besides the conferences, the Endowment has sponsored guest lecturers and the purchase of biblical software for The Saint Paul Seminary and for its professors. It has also contracted a guest lecturer each year for our students visiting the Holy Land during the annual January Term.

Inspired by Msgr. Quinn and Father Carl, I strive to ensure that the Endowment continues to elevate the quality of biblical instruction in Catholic seminaries.
