Pastor Development

The First 90 Days

There is a common saying among leaders that the first 90 days in a new position can determine a person’s success. The IOCF offers a two-day workshop that provides orientation to those who will become pastor in the coming weeks. Leadership principles and suggestions for the first 90 days as pastor will be covered.

The Pastor Workshop

The Pastor Workshop is an intensive, four-day program designed to help pastors realize their full potential to lead vibrant parishes. The workshop focuses on day-to-day leadership, managerial, and administrative opportunities and challenges and provides the practical tools and skills that are necessary for success. This is a collaborative effort with The Saint Paul Seminary and the University of St. Thomas’ Department of Catholic Studies and Opus College of Business.

The Pastor Workshop also includes Mass, Liturgy of the Hours, Holy Hour, Benediction, confession and time for fraternity.

Topics covered in the four-day Pastor Workshop include:

  • Mission-Based Management
  • Church Tradition in Management
  • Pastor Leadership
  • Parish Vision and Strategic Planning
